Hi there! My name is Emily Beerbower and I have the pleasure of teaching art to all the students at Doral Academy of Colorado. This will be my second year teaching in the Denver area, but I have worked with children in an educational setting four years now. I grew up in St. Louis, MO but moved to the mountains of North Carolina at Appalachian State University for my Art Education degree and ended up staying after graduation out of my love for the Blue Ridge Mountains. Looking for a change but hoping to stay close to mountains, I decided to move to Denver in 2015. I love the emphasis this city puts on the Arts and knew it was the place for me! I currently live in Lakewood and love the quiet compared to my year and a half in the city.
Creating and teaching art gives me so much fulfillment that I strongly desire to pass that onto my students. Watching all my students reach breakthroughs in artistic creativity, understanding and techniques makes all the clean-up worth it! The connections they make in principles and processes of art are easily applicable to other subjects and life skills, giving art even more importance. I love being able to facilitate those connections and overjoyed when they are made independently. I strive for my classes to inspire, empower and challenge my students to further their education and development.
I can’t wait to get to know all of you and thank you for welcoming me to the Doral family!
